The Daniel Defense Pooler 5K is a partnership between the First Presbyterian Church of Pooler and the Pooler Police Department to benefit the Warrior Transition Unit at Fort Stewart. Our theme this year is “Help Us Help Soldiers!” We hope you will!

The 3rd Annual Race is set for Saturday, September 8, 2012. We will host a Kids Sprint at 7:45 am and the 5K at 8:00 am. The race is open for runners and walkers.

Donate or Fundraise: New this year! For those who want to give more than the $25 entry fee, or those who for some reason cannot run the Pooler 5K, you can now donate online or fundraise for the Pooler 5k to benefit the Warrior Transition Unit.
Patriotic Costume Contest: Who is the most patriotic runner? Be sure to check out the details of our first costume contest. Trophies given to the top male and female.

The Warrior Transition Unit
The Warrior Transition Unit is the place where wounded, injured, and ill soldiers go to heal. Our goal is to raise finanical and moral support for those who are in the Unit at Ft. Stewart. For more information on how these Units operate go here: http://wtc.army.mil/about_us/wtu.html
Activities for Kids and Families at the Pooler 5K
We will have a wonderful amount of activities for kids of all ages. Our vendors come out and give out food. There is a massive inflatable obstical course and several Disney characters who come out to entertain. The food and drinks are free. A local radio station will provide musical entertainment.
Grand Prize: A Daniel Defense M4 Rifle
The overall fastest time in the 5K will win a Daniel Defense M4 Rifle. You can check the gun out at this website: https://danieldefense.com/rifles/daniel-defense-m4-carbine-v1.html. The winner must pass all necessary legal qualifications before receiving the weapon.
2011 Pooler 5K
In our second year we were excited to see 600 runners turnout for the race and to donate a $16,000 check to the Warrior Transition Unit.
2010 Pooler 5K
In our inaugural race, we were thrilled to have over 300 runners and to give a $10.000 donation to the Warrior Transition Unit.
